Jewellery exhibition design, Kolkata

The brief was to showcase the exuberant jewellery collection within a contemporary setting. Dharatal responded by conceptualising an exhibit that juxtaposes frugality against decadence. Titled Women amidst Kaashphool, the design is rooted in the local context, where local women draped in reed (khar) and adorned with Rajasthani royal jewels excitedly await Durga Puja amongst the white bloom of Kaashphool. The display was envisioned as a setting where the opulence of the jewellery pieces (গহনা/gahana) meets the grounded beauty of reed.
