Finding Wakanda - Care through conservation

As the world changes the cultural heritage conservation process also needs to ideate means of addressing contemporary changes while conserving the values of the cultural and natural assets. Such an idea was explored by the Marvel World in their idea of Wakanda, a utopian settlement set in African context which is in perfect harmony with the state of the art technology while maintaining their cultural identities and respect for nature. The overall theme was "cultures of care" and this elective particularly focused on care through conservation and design. The participants of elective established the related values and explored contemporary design processes & techniques to create a sculptural response to a monument from the 17th century located in the NID Ahmedabad campus, using futuristic idea of algorithmic progressions.
