Mud resort, Barabanki
The mud house in Barabanki has been designed using locally sourced Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks (CSEB), mud mortar, and terracotta. The building is oriented to optimize the sun’s path, enabling passive solar heating during colder months and reducing heat gain in summer. Cross ventilation maintains cool and fresh interiors throughout the year. The roof incorporates 17 typologies of handmade terracotta tiles to achieve the desired roof profile and enhance thermal performance. The project is a combination of traditional building techniques with passive design strategies rooted in its local context.
