Mud workshop, Orchha
A modest 3-foot curved brick wall set within the organic agrarian landscape, was designed and built as a part of a Heritage Appreciation Workshop. The wall is constructed using locally sourced 660 red bricks, mud mortar and mud plaster. Its concave form was achieved through corbelling, which provided a crisscross pattern. The wall’s surface allowed the placement of 211 mustard oil diyas which were lit in the evening transforming it into a stage backdrop for a live performance of Alha, creating a visual and cultural resonance between the built and the landscape.
