Modern Dak Bungalow, Mustafabad

Situated in Mustafabad, the design intervention offers a new take on a traditional Indian courtyard house or Qasbati House. The house weaves itself around the three existing trees on the site, creating courtyards to help maintain ideal microclimate as well as to devise pause points for engaging in conversations. Locally prevalent lakhauri bricks root the design in its predominant historical context. Each course of brick is carefully designed to create a rhythmic pattern which in turn acts as a guide for all fenestrations.
