Dravida Vimana temple,
Lucknow

The objective of this exercise was to re-use the 18th century Dravidian temple shikhara, in a contemporary garden pavilion design.

After an initial site study, photogrammetry was used to accurately document the shikhara that generated 3D models from 2D photographs with accurate color and texture.

The process used for this photogrammetric documentation was simple and straightforward, the crucial element of a successful process is obtaining a “good” photographic sequence in standard light conditions, hence six different levels of photographs were recorded from eight different points around the shikhara.
