Hunting lodge, Ghata

Dharatal has been involved in the restoration and adaptive reuse of a hundred year old colonial structure which was once an integral part of the irrigation network of the historic Ghata Bundh. An interpretation center is proposed in the structure, drawing inspiration from the rugged beauty of the local landscape and the industrial allure of the barrage across the lake at the site. The center and the surrounding landscape, will serve as a place where visitors can immerse themselves into the history of the Ghata Bundh and precincts. The adaptive reuse of the structure into an interpretation centre allowed in prolonging the useful life of architectural heritage by retaining as much as possible of the surviving evidence as a vestigial presence.
